Thermal Pipe Expansion
Advantages of TPE
-
Precision: TPE allows for highly accurate control over the pipe’s dimensions and material properties.

-
Strength and Durability: The process can produce pipes with excellent mechanical properties, making them suitable for demanding applications such as oil and gas, power generation, and chemical processing.

-
Versatility: The TPE process is capable of producing a wide range of pipe sizes, from small to large diameters.

Dive into Thermal Pipe Expansion
Bri-Steel Manufacturing’s Thermal Pipe Expansion (TPE) process offers significant advantages over traditional pipe manufacturing. Traditional methods often require large order quantities and extended lead times to change pipe sizes. In contrast, Bri-Steel's TPE allows for size changes in just 3 hours, offering increased flexibility, faster response times, and the ability to meet emergency orders. This reduced production time also allows for lower minimum order quantities, making it easier for distributors to stock uncommon pipe sizes.

Bri-Steel specializes in Seamless Pipe with sizes ranging from 12" to 36" OD and wall thicknesses up to 3.25" thick, in compliance with CSA, ASTM, ASME, and API specifications. The TPE process involves heating an engineered mother tube to 900°C and expanding it over a controlled mandrel to achieve precise dimensions. After expansion, the pipes are tested and finished to meet industry standards.

This unique method enables Bri-Steel to produce pipe sizes that traditional manufacturers may not, such as 27" OD x 0.965" wall thickness, which is now readily available. The flexibility of TPE ensures that customers can obtain the exact sizes they need without re-engineering projects, saving both time and money. Bri-Steel’s modern approach allows for quick and efficient production, offering high-quality, large-diameter seamless pipes exactly when needed.
